The core promise: your photos stay yours.

Every photo you take or import in Kio Cam is processed entirely on your device. We never upload, store or transmit your photos to a Kio Cam photo server. No accounts, no logins.

i.Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how Kio Cam ("we", "us", "our") handles your information when you use the Kio Cam app on iPhone or iPad. We designed Kio Cam from the ground up with privacy in mind. Your creative work belongs to you.

The short version: we do not collect your photos, we do not have accounts, and ad tracking is controlled by your iOS App Tracking Transparency choice. Read on for the specifics.

ii.What we do not collect

  • Photos and animations. Every Photo strip, Burst GIF and Ghost double exposure is processed entirely on your device. No images or animations are sent to or stored on any Kio Cam server.
  • Personal information. No name, email, phone number, address or contact details are collected by the app.
  • Account data. Kio Cam requires no account, sign-up or login of any kind.
  • Location data. We don't access precise or approximate location data, ever.
  • Custom frame templates. Templates you save with Pro are stored locally on your device only, and never transmitted anywhere.
  • Health or biometric data. Kio Cam never reads, processes or stores any health or biometric information.

iii.How the app works

All core functionality, taking photos (Photo, Burst and Ghost), importing from your photo library, applying frames, adding stickers, building custom layouts and saving your creations, happens entirely on your device. Your photos and creations never leave your iPhone unless you choose to save, share or print them.

App assets such as premium frames, backgrounds and sticker packs are loaded over a secure (HTTPS) network connection when you first access them. These are standard requests for content files, your photos are not included in those asset requests.

iv.Subscriptions

Kio Cam Pro is an optional paid subscription managed entirely through Apple's App Store and in-app purchase system. We do not see, handle or store your payment details. Subscription purchase, renewal and cancellation are handled by Apple's standard billing infrastructure. Apple's privacy policy applies to that transaction. You can review their policy on Apple's website.

To cancel a subscription, open iPhone Settings, your name, Subscriptions, Kio Cam Pro, Cancel Subscription. You keep Pro access until the end of the current billing period.

v.Advertising (free users only)

Free-tier users may see ads provided by Google AdMob. To serve relevant ads, AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA), subject to your consent via the iOS App Tracking Transparency prompt. You can opt out at any time in iPhone Settings, Privacy & Security, Tracking.

Pro subscribers see no ads anywhere in the app. For more on how AdMob handles data, see Google's privacy policy.

vi.App Tracking Transparency (iOS)

In line with Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework, Kio Cam will ask for permission before using your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) for personalized ads. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track," we configure AdMob to show only non-personalized ads, and we don't use your IDFA for tracking purposes.

Your choice is respected immediately and can be changed any time in Settings, Privacy & Security, Tracking.

vii.Your rights and choices

  • You can use Kio Cam entirely without providing any personal information.
  • You can use Kio Cam without allowing tracking, ads will simply be non-personalized.
  • You can delete the app at any time, any locally stored data is removed with it.
  • Your photos remain on your device unless you actively choose to share or save them elsewhere.
  • Residents of California, the EU/EEA, UK and other regions with applicable privacy laws (CCPA, GDPR, UK GDPR) have additional rights to access, correct or delete personal data. Because we don't collect any personal data, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete on your behalf.

viii.Children's privacy

Kio Cam does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. Because we don't collect personal data from any user, the app is designed to be safe for all ages. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

ix.Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review the policy periodically. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
